Friday Five - What's in my Workout Bag?

I've been doing a pretty good job of sticking to my workout goals this past month and I owe a lot of it to how prepared my gym bag has been. I'm serious. My gym bag has been on. point. In the same way that cute workout gear can make you feel motivated, a well put-together gym bag makes you feel prepared and ready to tackle your daily workouts.

Now that I've reorganized my gym bag and added some fun new pieces, I'm even more motivated to get up and get in a sweat session before work. I've even conquered some 6am classes! It seriously makes such a difference to have my gym bag pre-made and ready to go. I've found planning ahead and being prepared is the key to following-through with my workout goals.

I bought a little mini travel size of this dry shampoo just to try it and ended up loving it. It smells like The Dry Bar, which makes me feel like I've gotten a blow out every time I put it on. Dry shampoo has been my saving grace when it comes to working out during the work week.

I LOVE travel sized items, even if I'm not traveling. They're just so cute and portable, I have to purposefully stay away from travel aisle every time I go to Target! I let myself get some mini versions of "fancy" shampoo to make my post-workout routine a little more special and it's been so much fun. It makes my hair smell great and makes me look forward to washing my hair! It's all about making the little things feel special, right?

30$ is a little bit much for a water bottle, so it took me a few months to finally buy this, but I'm so glad I did. I rationalized it by realizing that I spend a lot of money every month on things that aren't so good for my health (pizza, bars, etc) so why not spend a little more money on something that will help me be healthier? Safe to say this little guy has been by my side every single day since Amazon brought him to me and I'm a total glass water bottle convert. Water seriously does taste better from glass!

I like to keep a few of these in my bag in case I get hungry on the run. It's so much easier to say no to temping treats when I know I have a healthier option a hands reach away.

I started bringing my hair dryer with me to the gym in the mornings because it has so much more power than the built-ins the gym offers. More power = less time drying so I'm more than willing to carry the extra few pounds to carry my dryer.

I should also note that I've been going to Pure Barre in Austin lately and absolutely loving it. I'm 9 days through my 40 classes in 45 day challenge and still motivated to finish it! I'll let you all know more about that in a post next week :)

Hope you have a fabulous weekend!

xxo, Kristen

  1. LOVE the KIND bars! Such an easy snack that isn't terrible for you. Also the dry shampoo is a great idea - not sure how I never thought of that!
