Coffee Talk - Creating New Routines

I am a creature of habit. I crave routine. I could eat the same food for lunch and dinner every day for 2 months and be completely content. I've found I'm way more productive when I have routines to follow and moving to a new city and a completely new profession have definitely thrown a wrench into any semblance of schedule I maintained over the summer.

These past 3 weeks have been filled with uncertainty and change. While that's fun for a while, I'm excited to finally feel settled enough to start forming some routines and habits in my new space.

Most importantly, I've found that I'm healthiest and happiest when my life has structure to it. Now that I have a better understanding of my new hours and expectations, I'm starting to add back the activities that make me feel like "me."

In the past week, I signed-up for a local gym, discovered a new yoga studio, and actually brought out my guitar to play around for the first time in what feels like months. Isn't it funny how practicing certain activities can make us feel better about ourselves? I know I'm happiest when I'm reading books, staying active, and experimenting with different creative outlets.

I'm taking this next week to really settle down into my new schedule and work on building a foundation of good habits for my life here in Austin. I think moving is the perfect time for a fresh start, so I'm excited to put my best foot forward as I start this new chapter!

Do you have any routines or activities that make you feel like you? I'd love to hear them!

xxo, Kristen
