Essie Summer 2014

My new favorite discovery as of late is these cute little bundles of Essie polishes you can get on Amazon. (You can probably find them in beauty supply stores as well, but I'm an Amazon girl myself... thanks, Dad!)

The packs come with 4 mini bottles of the newest Essie collection. The bottles are the perfect size and I love that I can try out new colors without the commitment of buying the full-sized bottles.

Here are a few pictures I took while I was trying them myself. For some reason the lighting made the colors look darker than they do in real life, so bear with me! If you click on the link to Amazon, the colors portrayed there are very accurate.

This is a chocolate brown that reminds me a lot of a lighter version of OPI "Suzi Loves Cowboys." It's a medium darkness, so it's not too dark and not too light. If you're looking for a creamy brown, this is for you! Brown isn't a color that screams "summer" to me, but I'm always up for trying new things!

 "Roarrrrange" is a great bold orange that I wish I had back in college ('Ray Bucknell!). It's a really true orange color and covers really nicely. I'll definitely be coming back to this color later this summer! I could not for the life of me get the color to photograph, but I promise it is not red at all!

 This is the polish that attracted me to the pack. I had been seeing it pop-up on blogs and knew I had to get my hands on it. It's a very bright teal/blue that I really haven't seen before in a polish. With so many different hues out there that are so close to being the same, it's hard to see something new and I think Essie nailed it with "Strut Your Stuff." I have a lot of polish and I seriously couldn't find a dupe for it that I already owned. It's on my nails right now and I've been really enjoying it. I do have to say that "Butler Please" is still my favorite blue though!
{Essie "Haute in the Heat"}
 "Haute in the Heat" is a great pinkish-raspberry color that is perfect for summer. It's ladylike and fun without being too bright or showy. It reminds me of a slightly darker version of Essie "Watermelon," which we all know from my post last week is one of my favorite summer colors!

Have you tried any of Essie's new summer colors? Which is your favorite?

xxo, Kristen
