{Friday Five}

Is it just me or was this week the longest week in the history of time? With Thanksgiving Break just around the corner, the days feel like they're going in slow motion. Thanks goodness it's finally Friday!

What better way to celebrate this fine Friday before T-Givs, than a T-Giv edition of {Friday Five}?

Without further ado, here's a list of things I'm extremely thankful for.

1. My Family.

I'm most looking forward to some good old-fashioned family time this Holiday season. There should be plenty of music, singing, charades and laughter around this time next week. I can't wait. (Cousins, grandparents, uncles, aunts, this includes you too).

2. My Friends.

These pictures can't even begin to describe how fun my life has been thanks to these lovely ladies. Now will y'all just move to Texas please?! (P.S. If you're not pictured, don't worry, I just only had 9 frames!)

3. This Guy.

Ladies, you may think you have the "best boyfriend in the world," but you're wrong. Because he's already taken. He buys flowers, cooks dinner, and he's always down for some late night karaoke. If that isn't a perfect combo, I don't know what is.

4. Riggins Fitzgerald.

Oh my goodness, just look at those eyes. Is your heart melting yet? As much as Riggy can be a pain in the butt, he's hard to get mad at while he's snuggled up to you trying to get cozy. He's definitely the cutest blogging buddy I've ever had!

5. My kiddos.

Teaching is a hard job, but man is it rewarding. I am so thankful every day for the amazing kids I'm so lucky to have gotten to know over the past two years. They crack me up, they make me cry, and I wouldn't trade a single one of them.

It's so easy to take your life and the amazing people in it for granted. Like most, I have my days when I'm grumpy over the tiniest things: I forget to put gas in my car, my water bottle spills all over my papers, Riggins gets in the trash, a deadline gets moved up - and of these trivial things end-up dominating my thoughts and attitude for the day.

I came across a quote on Pinterest I love. "I am in charge of how I feel and today I choose happiness."

When I look at this list of amazing people I have in my life, it's hard to get upset over the small,  insignificant things. I am so lucky to be where I am, with who I am, and I need to choose to remember that more often.

I challenge you to think of the things you're thankful for, not only on Thanksgiving, but every day. When given the choice each morning, think of all of the amazing things in your life and choose happiness.

xxo, Kristen
