Weekend Recap

This weekend was fairly low key, which was very much needed after last weekend's excitement. On Saturday, Jake and I decided to roam around a few thrift stores and stumbled across Sonny Bryan's Smokehouse. Apparently Jake had wanted to try it for a while so we decided to stop in for lunch.

Here are a few pictures from the impromptu occasion:

A very cool old school sign. This is the original location and it's been there since 1910. The restaurant is separated into two small buildings: a kitchen/bar and an eating area/bar. The eating area was outdoor patio style which was great, especially since the weather in Dallas was beautiful

All around the restaurant there are these little school-style eating desks. How funny is that?

This was the girls' restroom which was located on the outside of the restaurant. Definitely not something you see every day!

My pledge to "take more pictures" has kind of turned into me stalking Jake. At least he's a good sport about it! (p.s. Aren't his aviators great? They're new!)

What BBQ is complete without a few brews? We both enjoyed local beers on tap. His a dark beer (obviously) and mine an IPA.

Our little exploration made me really want to get out and see Dallas more. I spend so much time working and going to my usual places, that I really haven't gotten to explore Dallas much. After this weekend, I'm definitely going to make it a priority to get out and find some more new, fun places around town.

Have you ever ended-up on an accidental adventure? Where did you end up?

Hope your week has started off well!

xxo, Kristen
